LinuxDSP

LinuxDSP provides ‘plugin’ audio processing software for linux. All plugins are free to download, pre-compiled binaries are available for most x86 architectures.

LinuxDSP aims to provide high quality ‘plugin’ audio processing software for linux. Users of digital audio workstations on other platforms will be familiar with the concept of adding extra processing functionality to an application using ‘plugin’ processing modules – a bit like adding a physical audio processor to the outboard effects rack in a real studio. The plugins are designed to connect to the jack audio server which has rapidly become the accepted standard for pro-audio on linux.

Our Cradley Heath Studio is located within the Rehearsal Facility known as ‘Jam Jar Rehearsal Studios’ and we are now in the process of creating a new website for the whole place.

Studio 2

Building work for the 2nd studio is now well underway so cement and sawdust are everywhere! Studio 2 is a private studio where we can work on our own projects or just work away from the hustle and bustle of the main studios. Bliss…

Meanwhile, the acoustic treatment of the original studio is still continuing. Custom made diffusers have now been completed and are waiting to be installed.

VocalStrip Review in Computer Music Magazine

UK music magazine ‘Computer Music’ has just reviewed our latest plugin ‘VocalStrip’.

In issue CM135 (February 2009) SSL VocalStrip has not only been given an impressive score of 9 / 10, but it has also been awarded the coveted ‘Performance Award’, given only to the most technically competent products.

The reviewer states: [VocalStrip] is one of the best vocal plugins we’ve tried – Duende users who deal with the human voice would be foolish to miss out!

Recording Studio

Hi, I’ve just spent the weekend updating our studio in Cradley Heath. There’s now a new, faster computer running Pro Tools as well as our old standard Sonar, along with new VDUs, keyboard etc… Also some new outboard equipment and stuff like headphones.

Once this is all sorted and tested, we’ll start on the acoustic treatment.
